Now, I haven't actually SEEN this movie, per say, but I have heard about it. And let me tell you, my friends, that this movie sounds totally awesome.

The story opens up with a special ed. ballet class traveling to Cuba for the International Special Dancers Competition. The leader of the bunch, Jakey (whose enlarged cranium and off-center eyes look especially sexy when he's wearing his trademark crash helmet), gives his team a rousing pep-talk and I could tell right then that, had I actually seen the movie, I would be totally pumped up.

But things go wrong when the team is held up at the airport by a group of Cuban terrorists and taken into custody to be detained as political prisoners. Hardships ensue as the dancers are forced to confront their own mortality through tearful confessions made in their darkened cell, and face the horrible reality of having to work through the complicated mechanics of changing their own pull-up diapers.

Fortunately for the gang, Jakey has a moment of inspiration and discovers a way to combine their classical ballet training with some dangerously fresh hip-hop breakdancing. Using this powerful dance combo, the team escape from the prison just in time to compete in the tournament, where the world is blown away by this as-of-yet unseen totally hip, totally fresh dance style.

Now, I have to warn all the guys out there. This movie is so fucking sexy. I can't even say how sexy it is. There's simply no way that you're going to live up to how hot these guys are when they're dancing, and your girlfriend won't be able to NOT be disappointed with your saggy, pale body and total lack of rhythm after having seen Jakey and crew drool their way around the stage with their uncoordinated, jerky movements. DONT LET YOUR GIRLFRIEND SEE THIS.

As a side note, the chicks are pretty hot (I hear).

If anything, this movie made me even more excited for the follow up: Step Up 3: Step Aerobics.
