A Junior College Baseball Player Diary Entry

I write a player diary for my baseball team. Not by choice but because I am the only one that can write with any expertise at all. Our coach wants me to bring on a fellow writer from the team every week so I decided to ask one of the kids that has trouble forming relevant thoughts let alone writing an essay. Here is what i received. I did not edit at all. Enjoy!

 

Where should I begin with all the fun places in town? We have Martins, McDonalds, Burger King, Sheetz, Denny’s, and a Wal-Mart. Wes and I go to Wal-Mart almost daily. We go there sometimes to get
necessitys or just to waste time. No lie I spend at least one fifty a
week there on crap. My roommate is Conor better known as
Donkey. He has that name because he looks like the donkey from Shrek.
His name followed him back home to Conneticut. Donkey and I hang out in our room most of the time, were you can catch us watching Sportscenter 24/7. Our room is always busy every loves hanging out in
our room.  Just ask coach who brings recruits all the time to
show them the dorm rooms. Our room is probably not the best to show
them. The Wii, which is Stovers, has been a great hit in our
room were you could watch Kyle bowl a 300 or Gary,
the Wii baseball title holder, play baseball. This town is a lot different then where I am from. I am from
ManchesterNH, where I am the farthest away from home on the team.
While most of the team goes home whenever they can, I stay
here.
Back at home it is cold and snows everyday in the winter.
My mom keeps telling me how much snow we have had this year and we had
about 117” inches of snow. Here we barley get anything and people
complain they can drive with an inch on snow. To keep my self-busy I
watch TV, go on the Internet, class, sleep, and lift when I can. It’s
a total different then I am use too. I am from the city where there is
always something to do but I like it here. All the people here
are very nice. There is a sign next to McDonalds that says “the
friendliest place in the U.S”. Most of the time if I have to go
somewhere I walk. I walk just about everywhere cause it is
so small. Everything is in one area. If I didn’t play baseball and
have practice all the time I don’t
 know what I would do. The whole team looks forward to practice
everyday.
The springtime and the summertime  is were we have
the most fun. There are no classes, no cafeteria food and just double
session baseball everyday. Coach gives us food money, were we
can go anywhere we want or we just all meet somewhere. Either way it’s
a lot better then the café. Before practices you can watch Smitty
take fly balls without a shirt on thinking he is big. You have Jacke and hitting in the cages as well. When we don’t have practice we
go fishing, wiffle ball or play bachee ball on the quad. At night we
never sleep everyone is always doing something or getting into some
kind of trouble. Playing video games or out getting food. They are all
fun times.
