Welcome to the first edition of the Campus Chaos Challenge, presented by Kodak’s new HD pocket video camera. The way this works is that every other Wednesday for the next 8 weeks (starting today), we’ll be posting a video challenge at noon on the homepage. You have the full weekend to complete the challenge and upload your video by Monday. If your video is one of the five best, it’ll be posted on the homepage the following Wednesday, and users can vote for their favorite. If yours wins, you’ll be entered into the Final Challenge and are guaranteed to win either $500, $1,000 or $5,000. It’s that easy. And now, without further ado, the first challenge.
Your video challenge for this week is to throw a huge surprise birthday party for someone. Make decorations, noise makers, learn a birthday dance, dress up like a gorilla – bottom line is, anything goes. Grabbing the big moment with your camera sounds easy enough, but there’s a catch, or two.
1) It HAS to be a surprise.
2) It CAN’T be their actual birthday.
Bonus points if this person is a complete stranger. Think about the guy from the mail room or the lady who rings up your toasted oats in the cafeteria in the morning.
Simple enough, right? So take your cameras and get out there. Create the best chaos and we’ll have $5,000 with your name on it. Not literally.
