1. After years of slavery and racial strife, a president of a different ethnicity is finally elected and people quibble over the fact that he is half-white.

2. A bank needs to collapse before people are willing to make changes to a financial system that has made so many mistakes.

3. Out of 365 days, only one day is mandatory to express love, in the form of gifts and flowers.

4. Countries that are can afford to purchase missiles and nuclear weapons when their citizens are  worrying about their next meal.

5. Global Warming: After a decade or more of concern, it still is of concern, and in the next 10 years, still will be of concern.

6. People that are usually polite in real-life can go online and become brash and crude jerks.

7. Women who lament ‘Where have all the good men gone?’ never even notice that they were always there in the past.
