When I was eleven, during the summer before 7th grade, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith appeared on some MTV show to Promote Bad Boys II. They got into this weird hypnotic rhythm where they just repeated the release date, July 18th, over and over and over.

They drilled it into my head. It was all I could think about. It echoed feyly through the byzantine corridors of my mind, breaching in and out of its quivering lobes. To the point where I'd wake up at night in a cold sweat, wondering if maybe July 18th was the day I would die. Sometimes I still do.

Anyway, here are some things that have happened on July 18th.
