Welcome to the Internet Oscars! This is where we take the same categories the Oscars use to judge films and apply them to all the dumb Internet videos that have come out in the past 12 months.

Has anyone ever captured pathos better than the man in this video? Here is a sad-looking man making sadder-looking food. Every time he pauses you almost expect him to say, "I… I can't do this anymore." He seems to be proud enough of this recipe to share it with the world, but not so proud that he'll actually look at the camera for the last 30 seconds of the video. I can't speak to the quality of the chili-cheese dip, but this video is a real treat.

Honorable Mention: Laina the Overly Attached Girlfriend, Woman Slipping on Butter for 6 Minutes, Michelle Jenneke the Australian Hurdler and Your New Favorite Athlete

You've seen it before, but watch it again to appreciate the character arc in this short video. It's like a modern Greek tragedy. Our heroine begins her journey full of hubris. "What's so challenging about cinnamon?" she bellows, before devouring ten times more cinnamon than your average YouTube idiot. And for her pride she is punished — brought low in a stunning dragon-like puff of cinnamon.

Our awards for supporting actors go to those people who don't at first seem to be part of the video, but end up stealing the show with their unexpected appearance. Look at all the support these people are giving.

Yes, it's an ad, but it's also some of the coolest animation we've seen this year. Cutely morbid with a catchy song. It's hard to beat that.

This video gets all its humor from its camera work. How many videos can say that? At least one. This one.

This costume is a great idea and the guy inside sells the fuck out of it. This is one of the few times I'm actually hoping to see a bunch of people copying a costume idea; nothing would make me happier than to see 20 of these guys in one place.

This guy managed to make a video about himself that was actually interesting. That alone should get him some kind of award, but it's also written well, acted well, and edited well. It's funny, touching, and a little sad all at once.

This video isn't really funny — the most I can give it is "wry" — but this video wins for being hyper-informative and still interesting: the perfect way to reach people with low attention sp— okay, I'm bored let's move on to the next category.
