So, everyone remembers the perilous days comprising freshman year. The drunken nights, the debauchery — it all makes for good memories. Sadly, only the older students have these memories. Younger students like yours truly are living them. Though you may respond to this with a “good for you,” you might be forgetting the downside of all these great memories: Consequences. So, what I have to ask is: Is it just me?
The Ugly Chick: Is it just me, or has everyone woken up once with a martian next to you? I quote: “Ummm….yea, so, I have class today.”
“But it’s Saturday!”
“Yea, doesn’t that suck? So, see you later.”
Drunk Texting (the cruel ankle-biting little brother of drunk dialing): Is it just me, or has everyone looked at their phone the morning after, only to find three or four texts that say the same thing, namely, “Asshole.” Similar texts sometimes come out to “It’s time for bed, Will, see you tomorrow. Please. Sleep. Now.”
Fighting: Mom, I swear, we were skateboarding. I know it looks like the perfect imprint of a fist on my stomach, but the handrails on the school steps are…”
“Honey, you haven’t skateboarded in over five years.”
Grand Larceny: I won’t even go there.
So, coming out of this year, I’ve had quite a few great memories. QUITE a few. What I’m wondering is, is it just me? Post your best stories!
