Letter to the Editor

Dear Fellow Collegehumor viewers:

Recently Collegehumor has allowed its users to have the privilege of messaging fellow users in an effort to make Collegehumor more personable. At the beginning of this new addition, I like many other users, was thrilled at the change to write to fellow female users in an attempt to one day possibly enter into their holy temple, but this opinion was soon to be replaced with a vision of horror. What I had thought was merely an example of constructive criticism by a fellow user turned out to be a detrimental experience for my family and I. Below I have written out an edited version of my past week’s communication with that user. Because I do not want to divulge the name of said criminal I have replaced said users name with the word Douche bag.

Douche Bag: Upon reading your comments on Photo number 1234567 I felt it was my duty to inform you that your sense of humor is vulgar and inappropriate. Furthermore, the subject of which you speak of is not funny.

Me: I am sorry?

Douche Bag: Burn in Hell you Republican Bastard!!!

As you can see this user’s activities are not following the original intentions of the Collegehumor staff, and are considered by some to be offensive. With time I know my pain will slowly heal, but other users might not be as fortunate. I ask that all users consider the feelings of each individual before they verbally abuse someone through the messaging service in the future. For all those people who don’t intent on taking my advice seriously, I have two words for you: Come on….
