According to reports, a vodka drinking competition in a southern Russian town ended just ended just as most onlookers expected, with the winner dead and several runners-up in intensive care.

The contest lasted about 30 minutes and the "winner" managed to down three 1/2 liter bottles of Russian vodka before the other contestants bowed out, passed out, or vomited on themselves.

Afterwards, he managed to find his way to a taxi for his 20 minute car ride home, but tragically died in the back seat before he could fully enjoy his glorious victory.

Among those hospitallized were the second, third, fourth, fifth, and twelth place finishers. Still,as many as seven others were seen the next day returning to the same bar for drinks.

The grand prize was 10 liters of vodka, and as of yet it is still unclear what was done with the unclaimed rewards. But that may be the least of this bar owner's worries, because he has since been charged with manslaughter and five seperate counts of assult.
