I live in a I live in a beautiful house located on American Avenue. This great neighborhood has many features such as a Jehovah’s Witness Church which often blesses us with door to door Evangelism. There is also a myriad of entertaining domestic disputes. Why watch Cops when I can go sit on the balcony? The loving characters living in our neighborhood relax and enjoy the crack pipe. Occasionally they will remind us that material possessions should not be the emphasis of life by freeing our cars of their CD players and other petty material possessions. Occasionally Another plus is the pleasant rumble of an enormous number of vehicles that use our street as a cut through to avoid stoplights on Waller Avenue. The constant noise, especially the sound of passing trains, really helps to sleep at night.
Considering the quality construction of the house, charging 10% of what it actually costs to build for monthly rent is completely fair on the part of our landlords. The paper thin walls allow roommates to easily communicate. I love the unique accents of the house such as the breaker box in the middle of a bedroom, the outdoor water spicket pointed directly into the back of the air conditioner, and the towel holder in my bathroom that is tilted at a 10 degree angle. The landlords are so considerate of their future tenants when hiring the contraction workers who are fond of drinking beer while they build houses with no supervisor.
Living with five roommates proved to be greatly successful. I enjoy having to beg and bother everyone to get rent money and having our living room a complete train wreck. I enjoy the smell of moldy pizza crust and despise every time that I decide to bite the bullet and clean it up.
All in all, my residence could not be better. I can not explain with words how ecstatic I am that I did not need to sacrifice quality of living to be within walking distance of class.
Look at the extra clean, high quality kitchen. I had to specify to my landlord that I wanted "grimy white" colored appliances and made sure we had an oven that takes at least 20 minutes to pre-heat.
