Diet Rachel's What To Bring To School

I’ve made a list of the top things you’ve probably overlooked while packing for school. Trash the Top Ramen and Easy Mac, they’re packed with salt and are a dieter’s worst nightmare. Here’s what you need for healthy living at school:

10) Vitamins: Bottles of multi-vitamins usually run around $13. Get your parents to buy you them. I’m a fan of the boring capsule, but my roommate likes sour gummi’s and my brother will forever be a Flintstone kid. There’s a new report out every hour about whether or not vitamins are helpful, but I never get sick and I take a daily vitamin so I’m banking on that.

9) A Scale: Invest in a good bathroom scale if you’re shy about your weight. The only scale at my school is one of those scary looking ones from the doctor’s office & it's located in the middle of the gym.

If you’ve got a need for privacy, you’re most likely not ever going to check your weight in this kind of situation. It’s not crucial to see, but I find that the best way to avoid gaining weight is to see the numbers on (at least) a weekly basis.

8) A really good cup: Despite the fact that I’m obsessed with tea, I can’t bring myself to drink anything out of a mug.

This could be my only exception. Find your water-drinking niche.

7) Sneakers and a Sports bra: Don’t forget these babies. Get ones that are comfortable and stylish, you’ll want to put them on and work out.

6) Regular Nintendo: There’s no such thing as a healthy life without Super Mario Brothers III, Battletoads, Bubble Bobble, or Paperboy.

Don’t quote me on that

5) Scrubbing Bubbles Shower Cleaner: If you’re not living in a dorm, you must buy this. You’ll never have to worry about cleaning the shower, just push this little button every day to avoid getting mildew.

Nothing will make you sicker than a dirty bathroom.

4) Brita Filter: I know I’ve gabbed about my love for my Brita before. I triple dog dare you to find something more magical than turning ordinary sink water into delicious, crisp H20. Who has the money to buy bottled water?

3) Sugar-free Flavor Packets: Another huge favorite of mine. Get 4C Totally Light Drink Mixes 2Go and you’ll always have a reason to drink water in your favorite cup/mixer/chaser. They're portable and less than 5 calories each. Flavors available are Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Cranberry Pomegranate, and Fruit Punch.

Ballin'

2) Imodium: Your body will not take well to cafeteria food, trust me.

Laugh now, but no one wants to be the party pooper.

1) Tupperware: Your meal plan costs hundreds of dollars. No one will judge you for filling up containers with cut up vegetables for late night munching during the 5-8 page George Owell research paper you waited last-minute to write because you were too busy playing Megaman III.

Hey, SOMEONE had to journey to Wily's castle and thwart his plans of conquest.
