At U of I, the old women who take our id pictures don't put up with any shenanigans. But by the time i cracked the pirate scowl, they were too busy feeling sorry for me (because of my bad luck of having a "benign ocular syst") that they didn't even notice. As I left, they told me not to feel bad--I could come back and re-take it whenever I got better.

I think I covered pretty much everything, but here is a parting thought:rnA lot of schools are like U of I--they don't allow anything fun in your id picture. But what I'm pretty sure they're legally obligated to allow are medical conditions. Pirates are nice because of the inherently associated eyelessness, but there are plenty of other equally funny conditions out there. For instance, if one of your friends is small and light, why not see if you couldn't look conjoined?

Arrr.

We weren't allowed to make strange faces. But lucky for me, pirates suffer from a perfectly legitimate medical condition.
