I did go to summer camp one summer because I was sure that I'd meet my twin there. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out the way it does in the Parent Trap and I ended up leaving early because I was homesick. I knew this very awkward but well-meaning boy who wasn't originally from America and I think that his unfamiliarity with American customs combined with the fact that he was a math major (just kidding!) made him completely oblivious to body language or social cues. For a while, every time I saw him he would corner me, say an awkward pick up line and then try to hug or kiss me while I was thinking of a way to escape. Hmm. That is a great question. I'm not sure what it is exactly; I think it has something to do with the forced gravelly-ness of the vocals combined with sappy lyrics. Their style is hard to pin down. Are they trying to be emo? Rock and Roll? Pop? Also the hooks are so simple and just lodge themselves in your mind until they drive you insane!
