Are there any limits to what kind of sites you can exchange traffic with?
We can not exchange traffic with purely commercial sites, including "Free iPod"-style offers and pages full of Adsense or similar links with no original content.
Sites with porn in the content or ads will not be approved for Linkswap. Soft adult content (frontal, upper body) may be approved at our full discretion.
Since CollegeHumor is an English site, we prefer to trade only with other English language sites.
I just signed up and I've sent you guys some clicks, but haven't seen any traffic back. What gives?
Due to the high volume of unscrupulous Linkswap partnership requests we get, each site must be individually hand checked. This is rather time consuming, so we typically don't get to check out a site until it has sent us at least 100 clicks, sometimes more. Please be patient and make sure you've sent at least 100 visitors our way.
What is this console?
When you log into the Linkswap console you will be able to check your incoming/outgoing stats, find updated CH content to link to and receive credit for (CHTV Originals, Cute College Girls, Photos, Videos, and more), and add multiples urls to your account.
Can I link to you from more than one site, or have you link back to more than one site?
Yes, click the settings tab above and go to "tracking domain management" and "outgoing link management", respectively. Any traffic we return to you will be divided across your registered outgoing links. You can control the probability of each link being displayed by increasing or decreasing the weight option.
Could you explain how I get credit for linking to you? Is it required that I add code to the url?
Using the Linkswap ID # is optional only if you're linking to us from your site, however, when linking to us from non-registered sites using the Linkswap ID is the only way you will receive Linkswap credit.

Can I link to a specific picture or movie and get Linkswap credit for my site?
Yes - this is a new feature. Please read our Installation Tutorial.
Can I link to your site in some sort of frame?
No, you must directly link to our full domain and you cannot use a frame or border of any kind. Sites that link to CollegeHumor using any type of frame are subject to being rejected without notice.
Can I buy links, or pay you as an affiliate when my site makes a sale?
Sorry, we no longer offer paid links.
I keep submitting hotlinks to your console but nothing ever gets approved. What's going on?
CollegeHumor Hotlinks are primarily editorial based, meaning our very picky editors only want to choose the very best and most unique links submitted. This keeps the Hotlink section as fun and useful as possible, which in the long run means more clicks for each posting. Our editors go through thousands of submissions each week, so please be patient. You should never submit more than one Hotlink per day and no more than two per week; if you break this rule, the editors might ignore all your submissions for that week.
You claim your trade is based on a 1:1 ratio, so why aren't I seeing the same return that I've sent you?
Since we have thousands of partners to trade with, we can't send back to everyone as quickly as they may like. Our swap isn't based on instant gratification, but rather we will even out the trade over the duration of our partnership. Please be patient. We've been doing this for years and we're good for it.
Why isn't there a steady stream of traffic from you guys? I'm getting a flood of traffic all at once but I'd prefer more consistent traffic.
Because of our site's high traffic, when your link goes up, traffic will flood your way. We have thousands of partners, and try to manage the flow as best as possible, but it isn't always possible to minimize flooding. Depending on the amount of traffic you can send us and the type of site and landing pages you have, your site will either appear in our Partner Links section or in the Hotlinks. The nature of Hotlinks is that they send a flood of traffic all at once.
Technical Details
What are tracking domains and how do they work?
Tracking domains let us credit traffic to your account without you adding any code to the URL. When an incoming link is sent to CollegHumor, our system checks what's known as the http referrer. With this information we can identify the address that the link originated from. We then check our database for a matching registered tracking domain and credit the appropriate account.
How do outgoing links get selected?
Once we owe you traffic and your account has at least one approved outgoing link, our system places you in the "link pool." Links are given a weighted probability based on how much traffic you sent us and how much we owe you. The links pool is updated several hundred times per day, so don't worry your link will be shown.
What are outgoing link weights?
Increasing or decreasing the weight of an outgoing link allows you to control the amount of traffic delivered to each destination. You can change the weights by clicking on the +/- buttons on the Outgoing Link Management section on the Settings Page. Changing the weight is instantaneous and does not require administration approval. Weights are relative to all of the traffic sent to you, so increasing the weight of one of your links will decrease the weight of your others, but will NOT increase your chance of getting clicks versus our thousands of other Linkswap partners.
What is the outgoing link display status for?
We want you to have full control of the outgoing links you register. Changing the display status to "disabled" allows you to effectively take that link out of the link rotation for your sites. To switch back to "enabled," simply click on "disabled" and this will put the link back into rotation. These changes take effect immediately and do not require administration approval. If you delete a link by clicking on "delete," you are taking it out of rotation completely; adding it back in will require administration approval again.
