Nastia Liukin

Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin has landed a guest role on "Gossip Girl," this season. The gig on the popular TV teen drama came totally by chance when she and some friends were chatting about the show.

I was in Los Angeles and I was having dinner with a few of my friends and the producers of Gossip Girl were at the table next to me, coincidentally, so they sent over a note saying, 'Congratulations, keep watching Gossip Girl,'" she told NYMag.

"Then the next day they contacted my management and they wanted to meet with us and the next thing I know, I had a guest spot on Gossip Girl."

Liukin said she hadn't seen the script yet, but was planning on playing a character, not herself — something her friends found way cooler than any gold medal or championship she had won.

Here's Nastia with Olympics athlete Shawn Johnson at the 29th annual Salute to Women in Sports awards in New York yesterday. Liukin was honored as the Women's Sports Foundation's Individual Sportswoman of the Year.

Meagan Good

Saw V actress Meagan Good is featured in this months Giant magazine looking gorgeous! Here are some tidbits from the article via Hollyscoop...

Good on horror movies: “I love horror movies. The Halloween movies inspired me to be an actress. I wanted to be the girl being chased and running from something horrible.”

Good on being a sex kitten: “I want to play roles that people wouldn’t expect to see me in,” she says. “At the end of the day, I’m no sex kitten. Sometimes I’m downright corny.”

Good on staying grounded and not conforming to Hollywood stereotypes: “I refuse to portray any role that disrespects God or myself. As an actress and a Christian, there are certain things I won’t [do]. [It’s when] the role is yours and you’re ready to sign the contract, and at the last minute...they spring on the nudity. It’s heartbreaking.”

Good on ambition and fame: “I realize the only thing harder than getting there is staying there.”

Anderson Cooper

CNN’s host Anderson Cooper is on the cover of the latest issue of Best Life magazine, out Oct. 21. Here are some great quotes from the 41-year-old via just-jared.

Best way to prepare for a trip: “I pack virtually nothing.”

Best place to carry a passport: “My passport is a mess. I carry it in my front pocket, so it’s all bent. But I know where it is at all times. I find those pouches ridiculous.”

Best DVD for a long flight: “The Professional is one of my favorite movies. Gary Oldman is so great in it. I watch and rewatch it.”

Best cure for jet lag: “Whenever you have free time, sleep. I’ve found you can usually work round the clock for four or five days, and then you collapse in a pool of your own filth. But for five days, you can do anything.”

Best food for the road: “I travel with a lot of PowerBars and foil packs of crackers and tuna. They get better the farther you are from other food sources.”

Best rule to eat safely: “I hate being sick overseas, so I’m very careful. I stick with chicken, rice, and beans. I don’t get very adventurous.”

Best writers for a journey: “David Sedaris. Augusten Burroughs. Cormac McCarthy. I really liked The Road. I tend to read something that’s a complete diversion from what I’m doing.”

Best way to relax: “No TV, no radio, no iPod…just sit in a place without any external stimulant, have a cold drink, and be calm. Be present where you are.”

Best drink for that: “Nothing beats an ice-cold Coke in a glass bottle.”
