What Time You Show Up to a Party And What That Means
By Hallie Cantor
Before 10:00 Either you are the host's best friend/significant other, or you think you are. 10:00 This is the first party you have ever been to. 10:15 You don't mind making awkward one-on-one small talk with the host until someone else shows up. 10:30 You got here at 10:15 and walked around the block a few times so you wouldn't have to make one-on-one small talk with the host until someone else shows up. 10:45 Someone you want to hook up with is "attending" this party on Facebook and you want to make 100% certain you get there before they leave. 11:00 You would literally rather die than be uncool enough to show up to a party on time. 11:15 You're hoping that you're just late enough that no one will notice that you didn't bring beer. 11:30 No one you came with remembered where the party was, so you've been wandering around for the past half hour calling people at the party to get the address, but they didn't hear their phones ringing because they were at a party. 11:45 You refused to leave your home until your friend texted you a written confirmation that this party was indeed bumpin'. 12:00 Your friends accidentally got incredibly drunk while pregaming and it took two hours to shepherd them all out of the house. 12:15 You really want everyone here to know that this isn't the first party you've been at tonight. 12:30 You were actually really enjoying yourself at that other party until they ran out of beer. 12:45 You're drunk enough to be excited about this party even though three hours ago you weren't even considering going. 1:00 The person you were trying to hook up with at the other party left when they ran out of beer and you're hoping they came to this party. 10:00 the next night You forgot what day it was.
