Sure you can ask a history major why they major in it, and all you'll get is a pretty reasonable answer, but when it comes down to it, history majors don't know what the fuck history majors do.

I thought graduation was going to be the greatest day of my life, but it was the weirdest wake up call ever. I was sitting down with about 300 other history majors, and while we were listening to a speech about how we're supposed to be changing the world, we were all asking each other "what the fuck do you do with a history major?".

I've been looking for a job for a couple of months and strangely no one lists down 'history' as a major they're looking for. Well, it's not strange.

What good are history majors anyways?

If you're a history major you're probably saying, "but we're good at research and analysis." Well, I got a news flash: unless you're going to eventually teach history, there's not much direct application of a history degree.

There's only 2 things a history degree equips you for:
1) Being able to tell anecdotes of useless shit in front of your friends who all don't care.
2) Trying to get your foot in the door to some entry level job that requires an Associates Degree in any other subject.

Really.

When you're typing, mistakes are easily corrected with the press of a button. Type "teh" instead of "the?" No problem. Just press delete and you can correct the problem."Bitch" instead of "itch?" Just delete that "B." And sometimes, if you delete something you didn't want to delete, you can go up to the toolbar thing and press "Undo" and it will undo what you just did! It's amazing! So why can't we have these features more places?!
Just think of all the things we could change...
Let's start with something easy. Something still text based...text messaging. The infamous "DRUNK TEXTING." Such a dangerous thing. Wouldn't it be nice if you could just "undo" that last text? It really wasn't smart to send it in the first place, but how could you know that? You're drunk! The funny thing about drunk texting - you can be the drunkest you've ever been...but you always have a brief moment of sobriety in that fleeting moment just after hitting "Send." Amazing how that works, isn't it? And, it never happens in that second where you still have the option to cancel...it’s always right after. "Message Sent!" At which point, you think "SHIT!"Cell phones should just cut the crap and say what they really mean..."You're fucked!" And that's where the "Delete" or "Undo" button would come into play. All you'd have to do is press that button and that text you just sent would un-send itself and everything would be as it was before - happy and drunk. :-)
Same thing should apply to drunk IM-ing! IM definitely needs Delete feature. That little window is just so damn tempting through beer goggles...and the ease of AIM makes it so simple to begin a dangerous downward spiraling intoxicated mess of a "conversation." Really...what good can come from a conversation in which no details are remembered the next day? And most of it ends up being emotional and verbal vomit anyway...So wouldn't it be nice to undo that IM before you see that sobering "*insert screen name here* is typing..."
And then, of course, there's always that last drink you had that completely pushed you past the line between drunk and completely shitfaced ((and often straight into the nearest bathroom, or trashcan, or dark alley with no one around...)). Wouldn't it be nice to delete that???
I don't think I even have to mention the hundreds of stupid things said everyday, including lame jokes, bitchy remarks, and promises you Know you could never keep. Life would be so much easier with that delete button.

So I say...Fuck the Easy button...Give me a Delete button!!!
