With one of the most entertaining and compelling characters of all time, and one of the most heartbreaking endings of all time, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest united a society in loving this film and thinking that Nurse Ratchet's a bitch.
Sylvester Stallone wrote and directed The Expendables, which is OK because he was in Rocky one time, inspiring everyone to go to the gym for a couple of weeks and momentarily think boxing isn't stupid.
If there's one thing people like more than a Martin Scorsese film, it's a TRICK BECAUSE THAT THING DOESN'T EXIST. Scorsese's The Departed was simultaneously an effective throwback to classic crime dramas, as well as a fantastic standalone modern one. Also, remember that one scene? In the elevator? You know the one. Jesus Christ.

The last 20 years of cinema have really warped the meaning of "horror". The scariest stuff that happens in The Silence Of The Lambs is the stuff that people say to each other in this masterpiece of the "tell, don't show" method of discomfort. Also isn't there a bit where a cat jumps out at someone. Always gets me!
