I Fought the Law

Jesus broke the law. So did George Washington. You did, too, and we want to hear about it.

This story comes in three parts: First, when I was about 8 I was being an idiot and rode my bike, very quickly, out of my driveway and was nearly hit by a cop. The cop was displeased, and told me to turn around. To get some sort of revenge, he decided to start yelling at me through his loud speaker and turn on his sirens. Keep in mind, i'm an 8 year old riding my bike up my driveway. He told my parents not to let me ride my bike without a helmet and let me off. Later in the week the cop was parked near my house by a hill, and I was riding my bike, again, without a helmet. I had to pass him to get back to my house, so I decided to ditch my bike temporarily, and retrieve my helmet from my house, then wear it on the way back. For some reason I decided the best idea would be to put the helmet on to look less conspicuous as I walked past the cop. He, of course, noticed me walking with a helmet on, and proceeded to laugh at me. As I rode past him on my bike he, again, on his loud speaker said "smooth". Many years later I was extremely late to pick up my brother, so I hopped in my parents car and drove off. I was driving up a hill, and at the apex of the hill was a car, stopped, talking to a pedestrian. I decided to pass the car on the wrong side of the road, and immediately ran into a cop, who pulled me over for driving on the wrong side of the road. When he came up to the side of my car he looked familiar but I couldn't really pin down where he was from. I only had a second to look at him, because he almost immediately told me I was getting a ticket when I rolled down my window. I furiously sat in my car waiting, until the cop came back and gave me a piece of paper that said "Driver can't walk without a helmet, so driver should be wearing his helmet when he drives". Every once in a while I still get pulled over for not wearing a helmet.
