I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
IT Department
I work at classroom technology services for my university. We're like an IT department but we don't deal with software issues. We mainly go out and press power buttons for professors who can't read instructions. This one day I go into work at noon and immediately get sent out for a job right as my lunch warms up. Leaving my only substance for the day on a desk I go out to the other side of campus to help a professor (who called in yesterday with the same problem). By the time I got there all of the students stared at me while the professor said he fixed it shortly after the phone call and I needed the 'fresh air', trying best to hide my disappointment I say 'okay' and left. A friend of mine had been in the class and said that after I left everyone started to complain about how I was being ridiculous for making a big deal of doing my job and the teacher flipped me off. Yes it is my job to fix things but if it takes me 15 minutes to walk over and you fixed it in two, a phone call would have been nice.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!

One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
