I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Invisible milk
I worked at this little news agent at my local train station for a couple of years, and for a pretty normal shop we got a suprising amount of weirdos. Like one evening, it was just me and one other girl in the shop and it was 2 minutes to closing time. My collegue shouted that we were closing so everyone in the shop came to me at the till for me to serve them, while she stood at the door to let them out but no more customers in. This always causes a fuss with people wanting to get in because they "need" things. Well this time a woman actually managed to jam herself between the doors shouting "I need to buy milk, please let me in!". Me and the other girl looked at each other and said "Sorry, we don't sell milk" at which she screamed "Don't lie to me, I can see it right there! Let me in!". We sell newspapers, a small amount of confectionery and some soft drinks. No milk. But she continued to argue with us, shouting that she was looking right at a bottle of milk on the shelf. After about 3 minutes of her screaming at us she stopped and said "oh...oh no wait, that's a bottle of water..." and quietly slipped out from between the doors
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!

One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
