I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Troll Manager
Usually I'm a reader of your articles but I had something hilarious happen at work. On December 6th, four teenagers came into my restaurant. They sat down and ate like anybody else would. But near the end they began yelling at each other. I found out two of them could not pay, and the other one had to pay for them. No problem, right? The kid who paid stood there as if looking at a ghost. He was staring at his debit card as if it was the end of his life. I inquired on what happened. He explained his mother is going to be super mad and he's going to get his butt handed to him due to him just overdrafting. I helped him out about how the bank handles that and how he could get the fees removed from the overdraft. He looks at his buddies as if looking at dogs who need to be put to sleep. So I offered to scare the crap out of them and he agreed. So I went over to his buddies and explained, "Hey guys, your buddy's card declined. You have two choices: Go to the bathroom and clean it, because we have hired dishwashers; or I call the cops right now." You have never seen kids jump so quick to clean a huge bathroom with about four stalls. I told the kid who paid he can tell his buddies that he paid at anytime. He actually stood there for about 10 minutes debating this. He was about to leave and come back when they were done, but the kid as a big heart. He told his buddies and they left shortly after all shaken up. Now my hostesses call me the troll manager.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
