I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
You want to talk to my manager?
I work at a Dicks's Sporting Goods store where we wear dark green polo shirts and khakis. I needed to grab a few things so on my lunch break I ran over to the Wal-Mart across the street(where they where blue, and not green). I was pushing my shopping cart when I was looking to see what product I needed when a woman came up asking where the toy department was. I laughed slightly and said, "Oh, I don't work here, I'm just on my lunch break, I work across the street and I don't know this store well enough to point you in the right direction." She replied with a confused, "What do you mean you don't work here?" I started to explain my situation again when she cut me off and angrily started shouting on about how I shouldn't dress like I work there, why I refused to help her, why I was being so rude, and how I should be fired and that she demanded to speak to my manager. At this point I grab what I needed, and walked off laughing as I hear her turn around storm off screaming for a manager. I dunno how it turned out for her, but my real manager had a good laugh when I got back to work.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
