I Fought the Law

Jesus broke the law. So did George Washington. You did, too, and we want to hear about it.

Didn't get caught

Up -2 Down

Earlier today while driving to school, I was doing ~108 (kph that is) in a 100 zone. Normally in Canada we get about 10% over the limit as being acceptable. Anyways, I'm in the left lane coming up on two cars in the right lane going about 104. I'm about 5 car lengths and one lane away from the back car when he pulls out in front of me. No problem, let up on the gas a bit. He decides to pass at 104.1 kph. So about 2 km's up the road I've now got a white mini-van within arms length of my back bumper, and a red car in front of me who's passing real slowly. My turn off (to the right) is coming soon so I'm starting to look for a way to move over a lane. Problem is we just went through an intersection where the light recently turned green and let about 12 semi trucks and trailers through. The red car decides it's a good time to move over (all the while I still have this white mini-van up my bumper). I'm now faced with a choice. Speed up and pull ahead of the first semi and make the turn, or slow way down to and wait to get in somewhere. After passing the last possible spot on the road a cop could hide (unless in plain sight) I decide to floor it and in a few seconds I'm doing 130-135, well over the limit. I pull into the next lane and slow down. The guy in the minivan speeds up, pulls along side me, gives me the thumbs up and a wave. I'm very confused at this point thinking he was happy not to be doing 104.1 kph anymore behind me, until he pulled a bit further ahead. The word "POLICE" on the back of the van was the first thing that popped out at me. I figured I was caught, and proceeded to go into my turn off lane so I could pull off the highway. To my surprise, he kept on driving in the left lane. I never got pulled over. So apparently, my best friend who did the same thing in the city by 10-12 kph got a nasty ticket for trying the same stunt a few months back, while I get off with nothing but a thumbs up and a wave exceeding the limit by 3 times as much!
