Teenagers are the worst

I'm an attorney in training for my local courthouse. We get petty teen cases for small things like "theft under $50, assault at school, etc". Since the jury is strictly volunteer or community service for teens, we have to do the cases that would be found humorous outside of the courtroom. We get our list of cases and the police report for each of the cases. The punishment for a citation "theft under $50", is 48-64 community service hours depending on what the teen jury decides. A girl stole eyeliner and condoms from a department store, and got caught. I found it funny, so I thought the smart thing to do would just talk to her about the incident and save her the embarrassment of testifying in front of the teenagers. We go into a room and I question her the generic questions like, "Why did you steal it?" "You know stealing is wrong?". Her purse is open on the table across from me and I saw condom packages in her purse and a used condom inside. I squint my face in disgust about why a girl would do that. She realizes what i am looking at and she turns as red as the devils ass, and takes out the used condom and throws it in the trash. No words were said at all. I told her, "Seeing as you have no hygiene, no respect, and I really do not think you've learned your lesson. You get 64 hours." She stood up crying, and as my supervisor walks in, the girl walks out. The girl then sarcastically says, "That was the best time of my life." My supervisor then eyes the used condom in the trash can. I've changed my field to medicine.
