I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
No parking.
We have a total of about 15 people who office in our building, and a parking lot that fits about 25 or 30 cars. Now, there was some concern that during weeks when we had new employee orientation that there was no room for people to park, so it was decreed by the highest ranking manager in our facility that all employees should park in the "back parking lot." This would hot have been an issue, but I have gotten two flat tires from parking back there because it is essentially an alley that works as a loading area for surrounding businesses. I foolishly drive a smart car with no spare and these flats have resulted in nearly $300 in replacement tires. This is combined with the fact that when it rains, we are forced to walk up a small muddy hill, which has pretty much ruined a pair of my shoes. Now, I am considered to be upper management here, and I just feel as though I am being disrespected overall, but especially with this stupid parking situation. There are three people exempt from this rule. Two of them are in their 60s and have had knee replacement, and one is the boss that made the rule.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!

One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
