I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
The usher truly hates you
I work as an usher at a movie theatre where all the city kids come on weekends. Because I'm also a nightclub bouncer I am an absolute pro at identifying someone by age without I.D. and in the Hall of Fame for not giving a shit about peoples feelings when it comes to their night out. On the weekends of blockbuster rated-R movies I am a juveniles worst enemy. At least 3/4 kids will ask for a ticket to a Rated-R movie, get turned down for having no I.D., and subsequently ask for a ticket for a random kids movie starting around the same time. I'm immediately notified via secret service walkie talkie ear piece as the kid is handing me a ticket that has been "flagged". One by one I watch these little bastards walk in the completely opposite direction of where I directed them (towards the rated-R film) like I'm not paying attention. To make this more fun for me I wait until the previews of said movie to start playing so everyone's seated but not really paying attention. Instead of confronting the kids from the start I get to force them to get up in front of up to 400 other people and march out with uniformed police officers like they just stole something . Public shame is a great deterrent.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
