I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Enjoy the rest of your day off.
So I get an urgent call on my day off to come into work because a woman was locked out of her computer. I figure let me see if it's something to be resolved over the phone. So I call and ask what is the problem, she says she is locked out of her computer and someone changed her password. I explain to her that is not possible because the rule in our organization is never give out your password and I inform her that I would be the only one capable of changing passwords. So I ask her if she gave out her password she responds with "No, I know the company rules. I have been here longer. Do I look uneducated to you?" Confused I carefully defuse the situation and ask her to check to see if she is typing her password in correctly and just to type her password slowly and to make sure all letters that are supposed to be capital are. She complains she still can't get in. So long story short I travel downtown 2 hours on the train to get to the office and see she forgot to take off caps lock. What made it worst was her educated password was "Password". This was a nice sign of the things to come at my new job.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!

As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
