I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »

Let me just say, Reservations Agents have a shit ton of stories. I've been working for this hotel for almost a year now and have spoken to literally hundreds of people. Back during the summer (our busiest time) I got a call one day and answered the phone with my normal greeting (ie. "hello thank you for calling [name of hotel] my name is so and so how may i assist you") The guy greets me by name, tells me his name and says. "Yeah, I'll take those rooms." Completely confused I ask him to refresh my memory, but nothing he is saying sounds remotely like any conversation I've had. He goes on about these specific rooms, which we had but were not available for the dates he was looking for and had been booked for sometime. He proceeds to tell me that I told him they were available and the rate I quoted him was significantly less than what I was quoting now. Also, he apparently knows for a fact it was me he spoke to. He even gave me the date he supposedly called. I was still relatively new by this point so I handed the phone to my manager. She smoothed things over and was able to find him some rooms, but they were more expensive than what he was looking for, so needless to say he was unhappy. Meanwhile, I was going through all my notes wondering how the hell this guy knew me but I couldn't remember a damn thing about him. And, the day he supposedly called I couldn't find my call log for. My boss ended up having to give him a discount because he was so pissed, then proceeded to lecture me about taking better notes and being careful what I offered people and what I quoted them. The best part...the bastard cancelled his reservation a week later. About a day after that, I realized I didn't have a call log for the day he called, because I wasn't even working that day! I still don't know who the fuck he was.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
