I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Cleaning this is not worth $20.
In college I worked the graveyard shift at a 24-hour fast food restaurant on the side of the highway outside of Chicago. Just after 3AM I see a man peel into the parking lot, park across four spots, jump out of the car, leaving the door open and his wife and daughter in sheer and utter horror. As he runs into the place he heads straight for the bathroom screaming "I'LL BUY SOMETHING, I'LL BUY SOMETHING." When he came back out of the bathroom he ordered about 10 bucks worth of food but handed me 30 and said "keep the change." I tried to refuse but he just said a terse and quick thank you and jumped back into the car. I thought it was really odd, but didn't care- it was 20 extra bucks. About a half an hour later, the next customer to use the bathroom came back out and asked me "Do you guys know there is shit all over the wall in the bathroom?" It started to dawn on me as I was walking to the bathroom why this guy gave me 20 bucks...there was shit literally everywhere in the stall- on the walls, on the handle, on the floor, on the toilet seat, on the garbage can, and on the toilet paper.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »

Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
