Bagel and schmeer.
I used to work at this bagel shop that served breakfast. Every Sunday this elderly woman came in and ordered the same thing- a plain bagel toasted two times with plain cream cheese. But instead of calling it cream cheese, she called it 'schmeer' in a super thick NY accent. She would lean over the counter the whole time, telling me step by step how I was doing it wrong and not "spreading the schmeer right!" I tried to do it the way she wanted, but it was never right. She would begrudgingly accept the bagel and then complain to the manager at the register about my performance. I tried to avoid helping her but most Sundays I usually was at the counter by myself. After a month or so, she came in as usual but refused to let me help her. She would wait to the side until the manager or someone else was free to make her bagel....
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.)
