I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Read the sign.
I work in a very small store selling various natural foods and supplements. On the days that I work, i'm here by myself, so I'm responsible for answering the phone, helping customers, ringing them up, etc. I don't answer the phone if i'm in the middle of helping a customer, but occasionally when i am on the phone, a customer comes up to me with a question. Most of the time when customers see/hear that I am on the phone, they calmly wait for me to finish, as they understand that i'm running the whole show by myself. Well, this one lady was oblivious to the fact that i was on the phone as she came up asking questions while looking straight at me with the phone up to my ear, speaking into it. She continued to ask her question very loudly while I was trying to understand the customer on the phone and I was beginning to not be able to hear the customer so i quickly held up my finger insinuating that i'd be with her in a moment. She let out a big sigh and sat there with her arms crossed until i finished. When I hung up the phone and asked her what her question was, she replied with "So these went up in price a dollar? that's what the sign says. I don't know why it takes so long to get an answer around here" No lady, the sign is there just for fun, and i know, I should really learn how to deal with 2 customer's at once, especially for petty self-explanitory questions like that.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
