I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Mystery Dust
I used to repair computer for a living. One day, a guy came in wanting to buy the specific RAM we had on sale. I checked and made sure it would work in his computer, it would, and then offered to install it for him, telling him we guaranteed the work in case anything went wrong. He declined, which I was fine with, but then I reminded him to clean out the computer really well before attempting to install it. Three hours later, this lady walks in the door, beelines right to my bench and starts yelling at me, claiming I broke their computer and almost burned their house down. I tell her I have no idea what she's talking about until the husband walks up, then I pull the "Oooooohhhhh" moment. I immediately grab the store manager, have him come over and tell them that since we didn't install it, we are no responsible but that we'll take a quick look to make sure what the problem was. The bring in the PC, plop it on the counter and start talking about how it started smoking when they put in the new RAM and tried to start it. I looked at them before even touching it and asked if they had cleaned it out before the tried putting in the new RAM. The lady responded with, "Of course we did! We aren't stupid!" This was a lie however because I opened the PC to find that, except for the area immediately around the RAM slots, there was enough dust to make a throw pillow inside of this computer, and that some of it, was singed. I pulled the RAM out and saw several of the connectors were black, meaning that dust had gotten in the slot and caught fire, frying the RAM and the motherboard. The lady insisted that it was still my fault, as if I had put the dust there myself...

Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
