I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
false accusations
I work at a sporting goods store with a 5 in the title. My manager has done way to asinine things to count ranging from intimidating armed transport guards to serious impulse based accusations which usually results in him blaming one of us underling employees as his scapegoats. This week he reached a new limit of false accusations. A regular with a bright orange shirt comes in, takes a look at the counter sale prices and walks out a minute later without buying anything or even touching anything. The manager seeing this impulsively thinks hes shoplifting and calls the PD despite my telling him I saw him and he didn't touch (and much less steal) anything and he goes into hysterics that I'm hurting the company taking the side o a shoplifter. Our PD is really responsive and they have the regular detained in minutes ask to see our security tapes that our manager claims to have already witnessed which actually proved what I said true and our regular innocent. Our regular is no longer a regular with us but turns out hes a lawyer with the city and wrote a very compelling complaint to our corporate about the manager and 2 days later hes fired and I now have his job. I know you'll probably never return to this shop after this whole thing but I wanted say thank you so much for whatever it was you said and everyone working here is better off now.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
