I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »

For the past 6 months I've been working as a kitchen-hand in a little beach side cafe, and yesterday was the first time I've had to cut onions there. Seeing as I work with a female friend of mine who's constantly paying me out for the dumb things I do at work (Picking up scorching hot trays, cutting my fingers, etc.) I was extra careful not to do anything that would give her any ammo, so when I started tearing up from the onion, I figured I'd go over to the sink and rub some water into my eyes to wash it out. What I didn't anticipate is that I'd have to rinse my hands thoroughly first so I didn't get the onion juice all over my hands in my eye. So I start rubbing and almost immediately it starts to really burn a lot more than normal with onions and I'm absolutely balling my eyes out. I figure I can soldier on and just keep cutting the onions, even though I could hardly see anything there was that much tears. So I start chopping and again I do something stupid and straight away cut my thumb with the onion juice on the knife. Of course as I'm standing there sucking on my thumb crying like a little bitch, my friend walks in and instantly starts almost wetting her pants laughing. Of course she gets everyone from the front of house to come and look at me in this ridiculous state, including the very, very attractive other girl that works the counter, and they all start cracking up as well. I'm now known as Meryl Streep at my work. Worst ever.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
