I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
I cannot lift that much concrete.
I used to test concrete at construction sites. Testing concrete involves lugging around 50 pounds of equipment and gathering another 100+ pounds of actual concrete to test. One day, I got asked to test 400 cubic meters of concrete. An average concrete truck has 5 to 8 cubic meters of concrete. Do that math. After literally 10 hours of exhaustive labor without eating or taking a break, I decided to stop before the job was finished because I felt like puking and collapsing. When my boss found out, he decided to fire me the next day without paying me the hours I worked on that particular job. He threatened to sue me for not doing my job correctly when I wasn't even properly trained in the first place. To make matters worse, this was my work-term for my two year program in college and since I was fired, they decided to fail me in my program as well. FML.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!

As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »

Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
