I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Don't swim at amusement parks.
So, I used to work as a lifeguard last summer at this amusement park called Dorney Park in Pennsylvania. We would get a lot of people who didn't know how to swim so of course, every lifeguard would get a few saves every week. On the weekends and over holidays it would get really crowded and the wave pool would get so packed you couldn't see the bottom and by the end of the day the water would be so full of sweat, hairspray, and urine it would look like a foggy mixture of old dish water and vegtable oil. Also little kids, I'm assuming it's little kids, would take craps in the water and a lifeguard on break from guarding would have to put on their gloves to retrieve it and throw it away in a plastic bag. The way we would clean the water was to close the ride and let the water circulate a nice 25 minutes. If crap wasn't bad enough, women who were enjoying their time of the month, would lose their tampons, which we would then have to retrieve and dispose and let people continue to swim in the water 25 minutes later like nothing was ever wrong. The water there was pretty filthy, I loved not going in it an laughing at the people who were stupid enough to be swimming in the filth.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
