I happen to be chronically ill, since i was about 17. Last time i visited my specialist, and i complained about being SO tired all the time and that it depressed me, he told me, i should view my disease and myself differently. He said: "Having Crohns disease, is like being an athlete, it's top sport for the body to deal with it, it's natural for you to be so tired,...it's the... Read More »
Poopy puke van.
I worked for two years at a summer camp in the Catskill Mountains,in New York. My job title was "sports coach" which generally meant I sat in the blazing sun for 9 hours a day watching scrawny Jewish kids try their hardest to become athletes. One fine day I was volunteered to drive a group of fifteen 9 year olds to a baseball tournament just north of Philly, about two hours south of our camp. The host camp fed us lunch when we arrived and it happened to be Mexican day. After all of my kids stuffed their faces and played through the tournament it was time to head back.Little did I know 3 of them would fall victim to food poisoning and motion sickness.I was forced to stop at a gas station 10 minutes down the road and empty 3 bottles of febreeze into the van in an effort to lose some of the stench from diarrhea and vomit. It lasted maybe half and hour,so we were stuck in a poopy puke van for an hour.Top top it all off,the 3 boys thought it would be a good idea to strip naked so they didn't have to sit in their smelly clothing, they threw their baseball uniforms into a ditch while I was driving down the road. That was by far the worst day at work I've ever had.
I used to be able to get back from lunch at 12:30 and know that there would be a fresh batch of uPick submissions to read, but now I have to actually do some work as it is not being updated everyday!!!!
Several years ago I worked with a overnight delivery company. It wasn't unusual to run into all sorts of dogs when you made a delivery (including nasty ones.) One day, I walked up to a lady's house where the front door was open. As soon as I rang the bell, I heard the jingle of dog tags & realized I was too far away from the vehicle to get back there in time, so I braced myself.... Read More »
I work at Wal-Mart as a Wireless Sales Associate (basically electronics), and we have this one reoccurring older African-American customer who comes in with the assumption that we are some type of IT or Geek Squad. Well anyways, he comes in about a week ago, and brings his laptop. The laptop that he has is a Compact with Windows XP (a bit outdated I must say). Anyways, he pulls... Read More »
I work private security, we have lately been having a lot of issues with access control and breaches (people not allowed to be there, being there.) so we have one officer who is in charge of training all of the officers in proper breach control. During his breach test, he failed and got a slap on the wrist. During mine, I passed but I missed a minor detail and got written up and... Read More »
