Adam is known for his 2002 victory against former champion, Sombrero Salsa, in a heated Nintendo World Cup tournament on rock land. Salsa had a quick 10-0 start on the match but his players were weak, tripping on rocks, throwing elbows- they were running out of energy. Meanwhile, Adam bided his time, and with a few well placed people's elbows, Salsa's whole team was unconscious minus the goalie. Adam quickly gained a 20-10 lead over Salsa. But with less than a minute remaining Salsa did the unthinkable. He unplugged Adam's controller and quickly scored 10 more points. Salsa had the ball and Adam was out of options. Desperation in the air, Adam closed his eyes and, holding onto both ends of his controller, he heard the voice of his mentor, and chopped Salsa in the heart. Stunned, Salsa dropped his controller, which Adam grabbed and with seconds remaining, ran backwards with Salsa's team and past the goalie into the goal with the ball, winning the tournament and the respect of his peers. Adam and Salsa still exchange emails every few years just to catch up. Salsa wants a rematch but Adam retired. He left his copy of Nintendo World Cup at the site of his mentor's grave.
