Gas tanks almost never explode. They just burn. You really have to try hard to mix gasoline and air in the right proportions to cause them explode like things do in movies. In fact, once the plan is on fire, you can be even more sure that the thing's not going to explode because if it were going to, it probably would have happened with the first spark. Anyone? -
