Coming to America came out like 20 years ago. The odds of the Giants beating the Packers by a field goal at some point over the course of 20 years is pretty high.
My favorite comedy sketches are the ones with really predictable punchlines that you can see coming a mile away. I loved how I knew exactly was was going to happen only five seconds into the sketch. I have a weak heart and surprise could send me into cardiac arrest. Thank you for being so dull and predictable, Derrick, you might have saved my life.
Yeah, that's why the sketch sucks. If I wanted to see somebody act exactly like Dane Cook, I'd watch Dane Cook. This isn't even making fun of him, it's just rehashing what he does. Your praise is exactly why we're hating on it.
It's a pretty good impression of what Dane Cook does. That's why it's such a horrible sketch. There's no commentary or satire, it's just "Dane Cook sure does talk like this". Which leaves me thinking, "This sketch is really, really annoying just like the real Dane Cook, so why would I want to watch it?" It's like if somebody blew an airhorn in my face and told me it was a comedic satire of being blown in the face with an airhorn. Point is, this sketch sucks hard.
