Subway's Super Awesome Patrons
It completely blow my mind how old people think when something goes wrong immediately it is just because our generation does not want to do their job and we are all incompetent pothead couch fillers. I used to work at a Subway and a number of characters walked in everyday. During lunch hours in the summer the beach goers would crowd in. I had one woman with a crew of... Read More » children come in not knowing what they wanted and holding up the line and just taking forever. I am really patient and did not really care that she was holding everyone up. After a lot of subs being made, I go to ring her up. She then proceeds to tell me these are on two separate bills... after they are wrapped up and in bags. I had to unwrap every sub to figure out which one went to which bill. After she payed for the first bunch with cash, she tried to pay for the second with a card. The card would not work. The new card swipe was temperamental so I offered to try it. It would not work. I punched in the numbers manually. Still did not work. Keep in mind there it is still in the lunch rush. I am still patient about the whole thing trying to help out and offered that she could pay with the cash she has. She gave me this horrified look like I just stabbed her and that the cash "was not her's." She proceeded to get very angry and start yelling at me that I was being rude to her and not doing my job and that she has never been treated this way before and where was my manager. I knew I was screwed so I just gave her my name and where my manager was. Now everyone behind her in line were so confused in what was happening and when she stormed out they told me that I did nothing wrong and she was crazy. One of them even said they were going to my manager to them what really happened.
Well, my manager came over later, pulled me aside, yelled and cursed at me about the complaint. I tried to tell him it was not my fault and what went down. He did not care. Sooooo thus my day consisted of the good level headed employee, trying to help a difficult customer, gets a complaint for not wanting to do her job and gets freaked out on her boss. decent.
