The end of Hitler, the beginning of a lot of remixes.
Taken from the movie Downfall (Der Untergang in German), the whole scene in these videos emphasizes the intensity and gravity of the situation, and Hitler (played by actor Bruno Ganz) lashes out at everyone he can throughout. As a viral video, it works brilliantly because, unless your grasp of the German language and of mid-twentieth century history is excellent, as far as you know Hitler could be talking about anything. This makes the basic clip endlessly flexible, perfect for whatever the latest topical reference happens to be. Best of all, they all end happily because Hitler loses no matter what, whether he's angry about being banned from XBox, his friends flaking on their Burning Man plans, or the successful Allied advance through the Ardennes.
