L2X productions -- coming to a South Shore or Queens bar near you.
L2X Productions, comprised of New York Institute of Technology graduate Brett Tietjen and Mike Allen, shot this early attempt at sketch comedy in June 2007. My New Haircut has since garnered millions of views and over 200 parodies, with each new parody featuring a sick new haircut. Tietjen, who stars as Brett Broski, says he's simply playing the guidos he knew growing up on Long Island, and that he doesn't share anything with the character in real life. L2X Productions recently completed the “Skanks and Broskis Tour,” sponsored by Jagermeister, in which Brett Broski appeared at bars and clubs around the country. Tietjen and Allen have said their future plans for My New Haircut may include making a feature film. The video may not have been as groundbreaking as its success: the Youtube video The Truth Behind My New Haircut asserts that the idea wass stolen from Mike Polk’s essay “Look at My Striped Shirt.”
