Grammy-nominated singer Rick Astley shot to transcontinental fame in the late 80's, with his hit song "Never Gonna Give You Up." By the early 90's, however, his star dimmed and he remained out of the spotlight until 2007, when his most popular song turned into the Internet meme that took the web by storm, er, roll. "Rickrolling" is a prank wherein Internet users—over 30 million in the last year—are tricked into watching Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" music video by posting it under the name of other popular videos/links. Everyone from YouTube to TV news programs have Rickrolled and been Rickrolled alike. Fun fact: the phenomenon stems from "duckrolling," an earlier prank where a link would lead its follower to an image of a photoshopped photo of a duck with wheels.
