How To Make Your Fans Think You're a Cool Celebrity
Doing a Reddit AMA with your fans once in a while is not enough! If you really want to be considered a cool celebrity, mention in as many interviews as you can that you're a frequent Reddit reader. You subscribe to the weirdest subreddits out there, and spend hours reading posts because no one loves celebrities more than when they go on the same websites as them.
Sure, being rich and famous and hanging out with other rich and famous people is nice, but let your fans know that what life is really about is staying home in your sweatpants and watching Netflix. Give them the sense that they're not really missing out on anything just because they don't make 20 Million dollars a year. At the end of the day, everyone just wants to chill alone at their house. Even if that house is a Hollywood Hills mansion.
Nothing brings people together more than liking the same things, especially movies or TV shows you can talk about for hours. Pick a random movie or show that is not super-popular, but still has enough loyal followers to give out the sense that you're part of their small group. For example, if you ever watched a single episode of 'Firefly', go ahead and let the world know, and gain the love of half a million devoted fans in an instant.
You know what, scratch that. Nothing brings people together more than HATING the same things. If loving something together is fun, trashing it together is even better. Pick some kind of popular movie that's actually widely known as crappy and trash it publicly. All of a sudden you're considered a cool celebrity who has good taste and isn't afraid to offend the "Hollywood Machine". So edgy, you guys. So edgy.
Everyone loves food, right? Why not let people know you also like food. Like Pizza. People love hearing their favourite celebrities eat the same junk as them. Yeah, after that Chipotle order you can hit the gym with your big shot Hollywood trainer paid for by your comic-book superhero movie studio, but maybe don't advertise that part. Just stick to the fact you guzzled down at In-N-Out after the Oscars.
We all have the sense that celebrities are all friends with each other, and go out to fancy parties all the time. So if you tell a story about fangirling over a famous person, you'll automatically get some cool points as "down to earth". Tell us about how you spotted Madonna from across the room and debated whether to go over and say hi, and when you did -- you totally embarrassed yourself. Make everyone think of you less as a famous celebrity they can never approach, and more as the person who is afraid to approach a real celebrity.
If you really want to see the internet breaking over you, just spit out a random internet related word, and watch the entire world wide web declare you its king. It could be anything. "Meme", "Sorry not sorry", even "On Fleek". Now sit back and watch Tumblr burn. Congratulations. you are now a cool celebrity. Go enjoy being cast in a Young Adult movie and get invited to play a board game with Jimmy Fallon. You've earned it. Just try not to mess it up by tweeting something offensive.
We like you. Do you like us too?
