INT. BURNT OUT WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
TWO FACE, holding a PISTOL, stands over BARBARA GORDON, HER
SON and HER DAUGHTER. COMMISSIONER GORDON LIES on the ground
across from him. He has just been pistol whipped and is
appropriately fazed.
Two Face puts the gun to Barbara’s temple.
GORDON
Harvey. Put the gun down. You're
not going to hurt my family.
TWO FACE
No, just the person you need most.
(cocks gun)
So who is it?
GORDON
Put the gun down.
Dent moves the gun from Barbara to Gordon’s little girl to
Gordon's little girl to Gordon’s Son. Gordon SNAPS.
GORDON
Goddamit. Stop pointing that gun at
my family, Dent!
TWO FACE
We have a winner.
Dent pulls the boy away from his mother.
BARBARA
No! Jim stop him! Don't let him!
BATMAN (O.S.)
You don't want to hurt the boy, Two
Face.
Two Face turns towards Batman, who steps from the shadows.
TWO FACE
It's not about what I want. It's
about what's fair.
Two face turns to Gordon, so his normal face is profile to
batman.
TWO FACE
You thought we could be decent men
in an indecent--
BATMAN
(interrupting)
Harvey! Thank god you're here!
Two Face is holding Gordon's boy
hostage.
TWO FACE
(turning back to Batman)
What are you talking about?
BATMAN
Tow Face! You're back! Give up
the boy. Nothing fair ever came
out of the barrel of a gun.
TWO FACE
(to Gordon)
He knows what happened to me,
right?
BATMAN
Harvey! Use that gun you're
holding on Tow Face next time he
shows his faces!
TWO FACE
(back to Batman)
You know I'm Harvey Dent, right?
BATMAN
Harvey? Where'd you go? Tow Face
is back and he looks super pissed
off.
TWO FACE
I'm Harvey Dent.
BATMAN
Nice try Two Face, but your tricks
won't work on me. Let go of the
boy.
GORDON
Batman, remember? The Joker said
you had time to only save one?
Race to get to Rachel? Explosions?
BATMAN
Huh?
TWO FACE
You kidding me? My face melted!
I'm insane now! You don't remember
this?
BATMAN
It's been a crazy day...and...you
know...this suit gets hot and I
sorta go in and out.
TWO FACE
Okay look at me. Look at both
sides of my face.
BATMAN
Good and evil, waging war.
TWO FACE
Forget about that. See this side?
(points to his normal face)
Who does it look like?
BATMAN
Two Face.
TWO FACE
Just this half.
BATMAN
Half of two face. Gordon, now that
Harvey left, I have to ask, can we
trust him?
GORDON
No we can't trust him. He has a
gun up to my son's head.
TWO FACE
(turns to Gordon)
This is the guy that took out the
Joker?
GORDON
Yeah...I don't know.
BATMAN
Harvey! It's good to see you!
You're almost as good at
disappearing as me.
BARBARA
Batman, listen. Harvey Dent IS Two
Face.
BATMAN
Harvey is the white knight of
Gotham.
GORDON'S SON
And now he's Two Face. Half of Two
Face is Harvey.
BATMAN
So Harvey...used to be Two Face?
TWO FACE
NO! I am Two Face! I HAVE TWO
FACES!
(takes a moment to calm down)
Look at me. What do you see.
BATMAN
Two Face.
TWO FACE
Okay, good.
(turning his face right)
Now who do you see?
BATMAN
Harvey Face.
TWO FACE
(turning left)
And now what do you see?
BATMAN
Scary face. Oh no! A new
villain! Is there no end to the
homicidal maniacs Gotham produces?
TWO FACE
(turning to Batman)
And when we put them together...
BATMAN
Two Face!
TWO FACE
Yes!
BATMAN
What have you done with Harvey and
Scary Face! They've done nothing
to you.
TWO FACE
OH MY FUCKING GOD! Let's just get
this over with. We all have as
much chance as Rachel had. 50/50.
BATMAN
How can we possibly determine that.
TWO FACE
With a coin flip.
BATMAN
That's just heads or tails. We'll
need 50 coins for that to work.
TWO FACE
(cringes in frustration)
You first.
Two face points his gun at batman. FLIPS the coin. HEADS.
TWO FACE
Everyone cool with a redo?
Gordon and his family all nod and agree. Two face flips
again. The coin flies in the air. Batman tackles Two Face.
They fall over the edge of the burnt wall.
Gordon, horrified, RUNS to the edge- peers down- Dent lies
at the bottom of the hole, his neck broken. DEAD, scary face
side visible.
Gordon's son swings into view, HANGING from Batman, who is
holding onto a JOIST with all his strength. Batman looks
down.
BATMAN
And thus ends the saga of scary
face.
GORDON
Give me back my son.
